Not Just for First Responders
Although the field guide is geared for first responders at the operations level, it provides a great foundation for incident commanders, hazmat technicians, EMS personnel, and anyone else who responds to hazmat incidents or terrorist events.
Guidelines, Not SOPs
The book contains guidelines (or key points) for dealing with different types of incidents, but they are not meant to be SOPs.
Useful as a Field Guide and a Classroom Textbook
Although the book was designed as a field guide, some of my customers use it as a text in their classes because it does cover almost everything NFPA 470 identifies as a first responder competency.
