FAQ - Report Writing
Take Command of Your Writing contains a short section that covers the characteristics of a good report. This section touches on important issues like:
- Being accurate and specific
- Understanding the difference between fact, inference, and opinion
- Being objective versus subjective
- Writing a complete report that covers who, what, when, where, why, and how
However, a good report is also grammatically correct and punctuated properly— topics that are addressed in great depth throughout Take Command of Your Writing. Crimes Against the English Language also covers these topics.
What Take Command of Your Writing does not do is cover specific types of reports applicable to emergency services. That would have been too much information for one book.
